Subject: limited slip diff IP: Logged
Message: hi, i just finished reading about limited slip and posi traction in the archives. i'm totally confused. my dakota is a 4x4 that doesn't have limited slip as an option. i live in the north of canada where we experince ice and snow. i also have to drive 7-8 hrs on paved road a couple times a year ( which can be quite ice covered in the winter) i a guy who aquired a limited slip differental at his work ( he's works at dodge ), and he offered to sell and install it for a good price when my warranty expires. should i buy this?
and what are the advantages and disadvantages? thank-you.

Message: I have a Dana Spicer LSD and I'm very happy with it. The response when my right tire starts to spin is close to automatic. I probably do 95% of my driving on pavement (dont we all?), and having that LSD is a nice benefit when I am offroading. I have not been disappointed with it at all. This LSD upgrade was probably the best modification I've ever done.
