Ok, I have a 1990 Dak 2wd V6 lifted 5 in and 31x10.50s. Have a few mods of assortment. OH and a BRAND new rebuilt tranny. But I already have the mod bug again. I want lower gears. Flat out. I was thinking about 3.91s, but for no real extra RPMs, the 4.10s are looking better and better all the time. Do you think this is over kill? Most driving is city. Every now an then I do HW. But 90% is city. I want that torque off the line. Top speed is notta.
Where should I get them from. How much should I expect to pay. And 4.10 ok?

4.10s would be overkill for 31s. UNLESS you plan on going to 33-35 tires later on then get either 4.10 or 4.56. the 4.56 would be a little much for 33s just liek 4 10s would be a little less for 35s.
your 3 90 gears will be fine for 31s so will 3 55s. if you put 4 10s youll rev really high on the freeway at speeds. 4.56s would be insane unless you do less than 50 MPH all the time

I have 321s now. I researched the 390s. The rpm levels at 70mph of the 410s were only a couple rpms higher than the 390s. Thats why I have been thinking the 410. Most driving is city. Maybe 70% 30%. Thanks

4.10s will be ok then. it will also allow you to go to a 33 with no gear changes if you want to later
They will give you a little better ottom end power but youll loose soem top speed. when i say top speed I mean youll go 120 instead of 127. Unless you have the motor HP to turn those gears

With the current setup, 31s and 3.21s, I can run 85 mph @ around 2400 2500 rpms. So I figured if I went woth 410s, then my top speed would drop to maybe 75 or so. But that bottom end would be alot better. Thanks for the info. Where should I buy them from? And Id like a limited slip or something like a posi trac. What would you recomend?
