Subject: were is this dak getting towed out from IP: Logged
Message: http://www.dodgetruckworld.com/mygallery.asp?id=3614
take a look at these pics it looks like he's getting pulled from the dradiator support or from the piece of metal behind it that looks to be part of the frame.
I have heard of putting a towhook on the radiator support but with the stronger looking section of metal support behind it looking more sturdy I'd like to try there.
this is a 2002 so I don't beleive he has mopar towhooks. also I don't want to get body lift so that rought of mounting won't work for me.

Message: I have my tow hooks bolted directly to the front end of the frame, lining up with the two openings in the lower facia of the front bumper. The only thing I had to do was add a 1/2 in spacer between the hooks and the frame. I even used one of the factory holes in the frame. I have had them on for a while and got pulled out and pulled full size trucks out with them. The only inconvinience is that you have to reach in through the opening to hook something up and you need the locking clip that usually comes with the hooks, that's because the hooks are mounted vertically to the bottom of the frame. (looking from the side, it looks like a question mark "?" turned 90 degrees counterclockwise). Anyways, hopefully this helps... Good luck!

Message: Looking form the front, slide your hand in the oval shaped hole in the bottom of the bumper facia (there is one on each side). YOur hand will go in about 4-5 inches and you should be able to touch the front end of the frame, which will be about an inch or so higher than the top of the facia opening. That's were you bolt your hooks to. After instalation, with the spacer that I mentioned on the other reply, the hooks will line up perfectly with the opening but will still be a few inches behind it, which isn't a problem unless you try to tow a sharp angles. I'll see if I can get some pictures of it and send them to you if you need.
Good luck.

Message: Hey Fubar,
Do your tires rub? You can't really use 8" rims w/ them. Those are the widest tires I've seen anyone put on a Dak even w/ a 3" body lift.
I want 325x65's and everyone says they will rub w/ 10" rims. I NEED 10" rims!
