Subject: 33s on stock wheels... IP: Logged
Message: My plan is to put the Rancho 3" lift on my '99 4x4 SLT. Since I didn't get the tire and wheel package, I've just got the 15x7 alloy wheels. I was thinking of trying BFG 33x10.50 and hoping they wouldn't rub. If I can go that route, the $ I save from not buying new wheels will go towards regearing to 4.10. Any thoughts?

Message: I think if you go as big as 33 you are going to be disappointed with 10.5 wide. I have a 2wd and am thinking about a 3 in body lift with 32x11.5x15. You say you have the 7 in wide alloy wheels but i havent seen any alloy wheels that are 7 in wide just 8 in.

Message: Agreed the 10.50's are too narrow. They look like cookie cutters when they are that tall. Not to mention rims just look better. If you wait around 4 wheel parts is always running sales on tires and wheels. With a 3" lift and little torsion bar crank you can fit 33x12.50's on 8" rims no problem. You can also fit them on 10" rims but may have to do some slight trimming.

Message: Thanks for the input. Maybe I'll just go with the 32x11.5. Right now I've got 30x9.5 with stock 3.55 gears and it lost some power compared to 235/75s that were stock. With 4.10 & 32s I should have plenty of power.
