Subject: True size of Procomp Xterrains? IP: Logged
Message: Hey,
I am looking into getting a set of Procomp's Xterrains (33 12.50 15), and I am finding the measurements from their website a bit curious. Here's what they say:
Overall Diameter: 31.4
Overall Width: 10.9.
The rest of the specs really don't concern me, but can anyone verify the accuracy of these sizes?
I would have expected a 33 12.50 to be at least 32" tall and 12" wide.
If the posted sizes are correct, I'm in business, because they will fit like a 32 11.50, but if they are wrong, I've got to go with the ATs.
A little help here?

Message: IMO it's an error. Look at the sizes for the AT's and MT's to get an idea how big the XT's are.

Message: It all depends on what width wheel you have. wider wheel will make a fatter and shorter tire. Skinnier wheel will make it taller and narrower.

Message: I couldn't find sizes on ther website. go figure.
I've heard of some company's that don't measure the tread, I heard this about swamper but don't know if it's true.
you scared me though as I had just ordered 31-12.50 x terrains a week ago.

Message: I have 8 inch rims on my 2000 4X4 quadcab, and the standard body lift that comes with the off-road package.
Is anyone running 33 12.50 15 xterrains with the same setup, or should I just have one tire test fit and see what happens?
In response to Conig, you can find the specs at this web address:

Message: McCracken,
I see what you mean with the size of the ATs. I'm just now sure whether they have made a mistake in the specs or not.
If it is a mistake, then they need to come out with some 32 11.50 15s for Dakota owners.

Message: I have an '02 w/ a 3" PA Body Lift (Torsion Bars Cranked a little) and I'm running 33x12.5 XTerrians on 15x10 Eagle Alloy 589's - (in my opinion it's a big tire) - I had to do a good bit of trimming and they still hit sometimes (I know some of this is due to the 10" wide rims, but here's a few pictures that might help):

Message: Ian, What kinda set up you got goin? I just did a 3" tailmaster body lift, and I'm try'n to find out what size tire to go with. I had 32x11.50x15 on with the stock sport ride. I'm thinkin about 33x11.50x15 Thornbirds. Any suggestions?

Message: i'm running a 3" PA body lift(i don't recommend the trailmaster), 2" add-a-leaf, and cranked torsion bars, 15X10 Weld SS rims. all this and i still rub(it's the 10" rims).
i recommend not getting thornbirds, i've had them before and they sucked a$$. on an 8" rim you should be able to run 33/12.5 without going as high as i did. the only thing that'll rub is the tire on the inside of the frame, which is not a real big deal.
