I don't mind but why does dodge have to be different and use square U-bolts rather that the regular ford and chevy Round u-bolts. I bought a 2" block lift kit for my 87 4x4 dak to level it up in the back scince the guy I bought it from raised up the front by turning the torsion bar. Now the rear end looks like its loaded down with somethin' heavy. I tried to put it myself but no success. The powder coat on the seperate square u-bolt kit I bought is so thick the impact wrench over-heats tring to turn the nut. I'm taking it by the shop Monday to have it installed and checked over to see what the puffy white smoke is coming out the exhaust pipe. Hope it goes on quick and easy when I put it in the shop.

Why don't you just re index the front torsion bars back to their correct height? You are aware that once you add the blocks to the rear you will get alot of axle wrapp. The square U bolts are what Chevy and Ford used to use. The switched over to the round style because it is cheaper to manufacture. The square style is alot stronger. You normaly have to hot wrench u-bolts(acytlene and O2).

If I did that then my tires would rub even more than when I first put them on. Plus I think the extra 2" would look a lot cooler in the back too.

I forgot to ask you what is "Hot Wrenching". Is it difficult to do? And also what is "AXLE WRAPP"?

Hot wrenching is using a torch to get out stubborn bolts. A lot of times, you have to cut off U-bolts.

Axle wrap is when the torque output from your axle throught the tires causes the axle to twist on the springs. Lifting blocks move the axle tube farther from the spring pack, thus making a greater amount of movement from a given amount of torque. Its just physics. Ever see someone peel out in an older pickup and the rear axle kinda hops around and twists? A lot of that is from axle wrap. If you go with lift blocks, this is one of the penalties you pay. Two inches is not extreme, so unless you are drag racing you shouldn't see a large difference. I wouldn't worry about it.
