Message: the short answer is:
that depends on how much you want to lower it !!
moderate drop say 2 front 2 or 3 back is easy: if you use drop spindles up front and lowering blocks in back the ride will be exactly the same, but handling will be better since your center of gravity is lower
if you use drop springs up front or cut a coil or coil& half from your stock springs - the ride will be slightly stiffer say 20% but certainly not harsh- this is also cheaper than spindles and if you go 2 inch or less I think your stock shocks are OK
if you want to go lower ? it gets more difficult and more expensive - and I don't like that myself - never gone any lower so maybe someone else will chip in
see my reply to 'lowering 91 front' too

Message: ok. first off they don't make spindles for the new style dakotas so thats out.springs do ride a little rough but not too bad,i have a set of springs out of mine if you need some.Springs And
blocks is the cheapest way to go and the install is not that bad.mine was lowered 3/4.now ít's ripped apart getting bags put on so i have all my old stuff.
