Subject: front shocks with 20's IP: Logged
Message: ok...relying on the wisdom of fellow dak owners..(suckin up)..lol...ok heres the prob..99 dakota 2 inch djm arms toxic shocks.20 inch rt type rims and 275-45-20 tires...the front is rubbing the shyt outta the flares...im thinking 40 series tires and/or changint the shocks..any suggestions

Message: i'm guessin its the 20" RT rims and tires. those are BIG and wide. maybe try 265/ or 255/ 40 (if they're not too narrow). as far as the shocks, maybe your shocks are for 2" drop w/ springs. i think with the arms, the shocks should be the same length as stock, just stiffer. anyone else??:) peace

Message: I have 20 inch RT's on my Durango which is lowered 2/2 and mine also rubs hard. Your only choices are lower profile tires or raise it back up. I have a set of Bilstein 2 inch drop shocks which are very good and I still rub. I think its because they are so wide. Just my .02! Later

Message: YUP! RTs ARE REEEAL NICE RIMS(especially in size 20) BUT THEY DON"T TUCK!! :) u think since aftermarket people went and made 20s outta the RT rims THEY WOULDA GIVEN EM MORE BACKSPACING!!! but NOOOOOOOO. bastards. damn s10s have it easy.
