Message: The Precision Steel roll pan is straight across and easy to install. I had it painted professionally. $149 for the roll pan and it required some prep before painting.

once its been painted...a steel pan is your
best bet, the sir michaels fits like a glove, and

Message: macman: i'm just guessing here but i think they refer to it as a "roll pan" becuase, quite simply, if you look at it, it sort of rolls from the tailgate down, rather than "jutting" like the stock bumpers. hope that helped.

Message: As i heard through the grapevine, it is really called a rolled rear end, or rolling rear end. And is called that just for that reason, it is rolled under the back. Kinda a knewer way of saying it I guess?

Message: i would like to put my vote in for the sir michaels steel pan best fit and finish i have seen. i would also like to point out that truck beds are designed to flex and most roll pans welded in tend to crack at the corners unless you weld the gate shut as well, or add a brace across the top of the bed. i have a stupid low bagged full size chevy and it developes crackes about every second year on the corners of the roll pan. i bought my first dodge this year its a 2003 QC 4x4 4.7 and i said this is going to stay stock well it now has clear corners no stickers street sceen speed grill and power heated mirrors. i just ordered a sir michaels roll pan and my lid is waiting for the pan so they can get paint at the same time. great site thanks to all

Message: I have a Xenon roll pan, I think it looks the best out of all of them out there. I paid like $130 for it back in September and got it painted for free at work (body shop). After talking to my boss about buying one, he said it makes really no difference which material you buy. In the case of a rear end accident your chances of getting hit perfectly straight are extremely rare therefore it makes no difference if its steel, poly, or fiberglass you will end up with damage. My advice is buy the one that looks the best.
