Subject: Cup holder question IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2002 CC Auto with a bench seat. It has the 2 adjustable cup holders under the dash, is there any aftermarket holder that will replace this thing that's half way decent? I had a 99 s-10 5spd, and it had the dual cup holders, that had rubber "flaps" I guess you could call them, they were perfect, they would hold a HUGE McDonald cup or a small can. They were deep enough, and had a good grip on them. The one in my Dakota just flat out sucks, and they need to go. They only grab the bottom of the cup, so a full pop or whatever tips over when I take off or turn. and I'm so tired of the sh!t spilling. Sorry to vent but it pisses me off. I wonder if they even tested these things out.
Any ideas would greatly be appreciated

Message: HAHA... I thought I was the only one that noticed that. I am in the Dakota alot and almost have a drink with me.. Well, those cupholders are SH*T. I spill at least 2-3 drinks a month.. My solution: Custom Center console (and I am going to put cupholders on it ;) http://www.intense99dak.com/console.htm

Message: They should have kept them the way mine are in my 2000 Quad, they slide out from the seat when you need them and are up high, not on the floor.
Z-Tube, R/T Rims, SSB Rear Disc Conversion, Alpine Head-Unit, Infinity Kappa Speakers, SilverStar Headlights, HO Cams & Intake installed.
Got H.O. ?

Message: yeah hte ones in the 00's are great. i love mine
cause you can kinda push it closed a lil to make
sure its holding your drink nice and snug. i'd say
try to find one and mount it.

Message: Greg555 has a good point. alot of time they go cheaper but leave the old mounts in place. I got a 99 and really like it.
check if you can mount a slide out holder and
use the original one to hold your cell phone
