Hey i noticed you where from BAton Rouge Louisiana. Well i'm from Gonzales, Louisiana which is 15 minutes away. Just to let ya know every second saturday of the month here in Gonzales at the Sonic on Airline Hwy, is a car show. Last month we had a DML meet there. About 5 dak's came. Well, that title got my attention. Actually, I live north of Gonzales. I put Baton Rouge on things that are on a national level for easier recognition. I've lived in Ascension parish 50 of my 52 years (2 years in the Army. Hehe). I have 2 sons. Both have Dakotas but mine is the only one that has modifications. I wasn't aware that the shows were that regular. Black98dak from N.O. told me of one about a month ago but I work shift work and was working that night. I'll be checking you out one night. What kind of Dakota am I looking for? I'll check out your web site To see what it looks like. I have a '99 white over silver CC. I've taken all the lettering off and I have white letter tires. Otherwise, it is plain. I'm going for the "sleeper" deal. Hehehe.

Hehe, glad it got your attention, Also i work at the Auto Zone in Gonzales so whenever your in there, look for me. My name is Daniel which is obvious, and my name is on my shirt, i'll be at work tommorow night from 4-10. And i have a Gen II X-Cab Flame Red. There are several daks around town, some are in the DML meet pics, the silver Gen II with aftermarket rims is from gonzales, as is the white Dodge Ram, we usually ride around together. Well i'm glad now i have someone near me. hehe. C ya later

I would have taken more pics, but it was getting dark when we finally lined the trucks up. Oh well, always next time

O.K. Kraw. Name change is registered in my pea sized brain.
I saw air force 1 in Shreveport a couple ago. It is just a painted up regular plane. I don't know why it is so interesting ...but it was.

I almost got to tour that one last year. They said it was a communications version of AF1, not the kind the Pres actually uses... More like a decoy.
I think they do alot of AF1 repairs at the Boeing hanger there.

kraw, musta' been neat to see Old Dubya and all the stuff that goes on around him. I had never thought about how the limos get there. I should have figured a C5A would do the job. While I was in there I looked around. You got some really good stuff on your site. In your guest book, I posted that my floks were fron the Vinton/Starks area. Also, my son graduated from La. Tech 2 years ago. He is a mechanical engineer and helps me figure out how to make my Dakota go faster. He has a '99 R/T but his baby is a '89 Firebird that has run a 11.33 best on the 1/4.

It is always fun.. our dept knows what to do.. we do this all the time.. then the secret service comes in and screws it all up as usual! hehe
THe limos generally come in on a C141, this is the first time I saw them in a C5. But that is ok, I like the C5 better!
I am from Pitkin, I think Starks is south of there, closer to Lake Chuck. I remember Starks cause I thought it was neat that the town was named after the restaurant Starks (now Dairy Queen)
I almost went to Tech, but the only computer science program they had was computer engineering, and I didn't like the sound of that. So I went to NLU. Then I changed my major to Aviation and found out Tech had one of the top aviation programs in the nation... oh well, I had fun at NLU and meet alot of friends, including my wife.. I guess I made the right decision =)

Yeah! Starks is south of Pitkin. It was a rough little town up until a few years ago. I remember seeing hitching posts in town.

Hey wayne where did you get your 3.90 gears from, and how hard was it to do? how much of a difference was it? was speedo off alot? what about gas milage? I am thinking of getting 3.90's to replace my 3.55. how much did you get the gears for? thanks for the info.

Daniel, I am at work and don't have access to my records but to the best of my memory, gears and parts cost about $350. My son and I put them in. I wouldn't attempt to do this without some experience helping me. MPG doesn't seen to have changed noticibly. Gained about 300 RPM at 65 MPH. No change in speedometer because the sensor for MPH is on the ring gear. It don't care what the ratio is. I ended up with a very minor whine at about 30 MPH but it can't be heard even at low radio volume. Wasn't worth redoing. If you need exact $ and where I got the stuff, I will have to get back to you.
