Message: Yes, it will make it considerably louder and deeper. You think the MBRP sounds good now, you need to take that cat out. Your truck is pretty new too, so I'd give that muffler time to break in.
Or...turndown!

Message: If you just take out the third cat, no. However, the pre cats, yes.

Message: I would just go with a 3in cut out. It is the cheapest and will give off the most power. People say that you will lose low end toque but i don't fell that a bit. 3 in cutout about 70$ installed.

Message: It's gonna cost 40 bucks to get the cat cut off and a pipe put on. When you go into the shop ask them if they can cut off your cat and put a pipe on. They will say yea, and ask them if they can do it for 30. They'll either say yes or no it's 40.

Message: Ask for the 'farm truck special'. You can't call any of them up to do it, usually you have to know someone or go in and sorta ask.
It's hard to just come out and say "Hey, will you risk your business and a hefty fine for a $40 exhaust job?"
It took me about 3 shops to find one that would do it. I knew they all did it, but they didn't know me, so they didn't do it for me.

Message: You can take you're cat out for less than $10 if you feel like doing it yourself - I did it on mine the first week I had it.
Go down to the parts store and pick up a piece of 2 1/2" tubing thats flared on one end and about 18" long , also pick up an adaptor thats 2 1/2" OD x 2 1/2" OD and 3- 2 1/2" exhaust clamps. Cut the pipe on each side of the cat - approx leaving 1" of tubing on the cat in case if you have to put it back in later. Put the pipe in place and clamp it all down. It took me about 25 minutes because I had to use a hacksaw to cut the pipes - if you have a tubing cutter it will probably take half the time.

Message: by taking off the cat (all 3 of them) you will lose tremendous low end torch and will be so loud that you won't want to drive it. With 1 cat gone the torch will still be lost go with the cutout.
