Water sking is KOOL. And there is plenty of trails and mud to ride 4 wheelers on and in, and you don't have to worrie about frost bite.

Message: I do have my Sea-doo, would just have to swap out some parts to ride in the ocean. I'm set up for mid-top end right not, would have to set it up for low - mid power. I'm not much of a water skiier. Never could get up. Mud is cool, although being up here in Syracuse, we get plenty of rain and snow to make mud.

Lots of lakes every where, and that Sea Doo could be left like it is to Play on the lakes. I forgot to mention that idea before, and there is no mud like Louisiana Gumbo Mud it's deep, slick and flies every where.

I'm in the Air Force in Korea right now, so I'm getting short. Really miss driving my 97 Dakota. I'm from Dayton TX, so I'm going to be close to home for a couple of years. I plan on moding my truck next year sometime.

J-R-M,
When you get to Shreveport Louisiana, I can direct you to some good shops around there to get good custom work done on your truck, from custom turbo's to lift or lowering or exhaust.
I know a killer Mazda RX shop there that could do a Jam Up Turbo on these trucks. He helped me with the turbo on three different vehicles I've had. The first one was a 83 1st Generation 12A Rx7, the second was my 83 1st Generation with a 93 13B 3rd Generation motor in it, and my 96 Nissan 2.4L XE King Cab. I wish I could get back there now and have him do one for this truck.
He has 2 of the best turbo Mechanics I know of, and one of them has a 1.5L Honda Civic that I've never seen beat on the street.
Next to the River there is a Frisbee Golf Course (Clyde Fant Memorial Parkway) that's just out of Down Town Shreveport that the Street Racers Gather up at on Friday and Saturday Night and Strut their stuff.
Good Luck with your move, I'm leaving Germany at the end of the Month going to Colorado Springs, CO. I shipped my truck out a week ago today and man do I miss It.

Message: Hmmm, not sure I could leave the north and snowmobiling. I'm foaming at the mouth waiting for the first snowfall to load the sleds up and go out riding, but I think you would also have fun down in Louisiana. Moving that far is a big decision, weigh all the options, pros, cons, etc. before you decide.

Message: I'm in Natchitoches, but my boyfriend is in Shreveport. I'll be up there tomorrow. Overall I like LA, hated the snow and cold winters back in Maine. Waterskiing in January was really cool, especially calling home and telling my family. :) The only problem I had was with my allergies. I stayed sick for about a year before I finally got my tonsils removed! Hopefully no one else had that problem, it sucked!

Thanks for the info! I'm looking forward to the move, and checking out the hot-rods around town.
Colorado Springs is awesome! So I hear anyway, my wife is from Greely CO. Which is just North of Denver. Peterson AFB was my 2nd choice from Kunsan but I got my 3rd Barksdale.

Thats cool I'm plaining on coming up there this weekend to do some shoping and hang with some friends that I know.
Curt
When did you move from Dayton? Also did you graduate from Dayton or just lived there for a couple of years? I graduated from Channelview High School in 93, and my brothers and sisters went to Dayton schools after that but none of them made it out alive LOL! "Graduated that is"
99blkdak
Good Luck with the job hunting! I'm sure if it works out we will be intouch, us both having Dakotas.
