Message: You would probably do better if you tried to find a Dakota with an engine and transmission, remove those components and sell them.
What are you trying to do?

Message: Maybe I didn't specify, looking for one that has been salvaged. I tried searching the insurance auctions to no avail. Just figured I'd try here.
The plan is though to do a transplant. You see I have an old '83 Dodge Ram that I rebuilt my senior year in high school in '94. Anyway it has an 89 police interceptor 318 bored .30 over with 360 swirl port heads, stealth intake and other stuff done to it and I was looking to drop it in an RC Dak. I stopped playing around with it for a while and just looking for a new body to put the soul into.
Thanks,
Michael

Message: Hey Michael. Be carefull about buying a salvage truck for a body shop or a insurance company. You will get a salvage title with it and you CANT register a salvage title.

Message: Thanks, but I'm well aware of the salvage title. About four or so years ago I used to buy salvaged vehicles repair and sell them as a side job. When they are sold you have to notify the purchaser of the items you repaired made to the car. Only thing is I didn't mess with anything that sustained to much damage or I felt that couldn't be made safe and reliable again.

Message: You just missed the deal of a lifetime on Ebay. There was a '97 4cyl Dak that sold with no reserve for just over $3K. Was pretty ugly looking because of all the crap the guy put on it like the stick on hood scoops, had as big 'ol ricer wing on the back and was lowered. But the body was in good shape and interior looked decent as well.

Message: Brian just really noticed what you typed. In Louisiana you can register a salvage title only after it has passed inspection through the state police the title is changed to reconstructed title.
Sorry,
Michael
