 Subject: Malfunction Indicator Light

Recently my Malfunction Indicator Light lit up on my control panel in my 2001 CC 4.7, auto . It stayed on for bout day an a 1/2,and went off and stayed off for at least a week, and it then came back on this afternoon when I left work. Any ideas? I have already talked to the dealer, as I am still under factory warranty. Just havent had the time to afford without a vehicle. Any possible suggestions?

See if it tripped any codes
you can pull the codes from the PCM by doing the following:
Put the Key in the ignition
Turn the key to the "Run" position (The one right below start)
Move back to the "On" Position
Turn the key to the "Run position
Move back to the "On" position
Turn the key to the "Run position
Move back to the "On" position
The codes will appear in the odometer, flashing the codes, one by one, and then it will flash "P DONE" when you've reached the end of the codes.
Then go to http://www.obdii.com/ to look up the codes
