Message: I've seen them at K-Mart, ABC Auto, Pep Boys, and even Wal Mart. I haven't gotten them myself yet, but will probably go with the Sylvania brand that ABC Auto has.

Message: www.midnightmoose.com has the best deals and bulbs I've came across. I originally bought a complete set of bulbs headlight/driving for my Dak off ebay from them for $29.95 shipped and since then have switched almost every exterior bulb(backup, marker, cargo) on my 2 Daks to Xenon's including the H3 driving lamps mounted to my wifes safari bar(BRIGHT!). I have also bought several complete sets for other vehicles(friends and family) and everyone is happy with the lighting difference at nighttime.
Customer Service Example: I had one bulb that arrived with a chip, although it worked fine, the long term reliability was questionable so I sent Jeff at midnight moose an email and he is sending out a replacement, no questions asked. Needless to say they have excellent customer service and I have did so much business with him over the last several months that I have received a significant repeat customer discount where I ended up paying less than you can get them on Ebay:)
Check out the website and then email him directly at Jeff@MidnightMoose.com for direct pricing with the bulb's and how many of each you want instead of ordering from the website(why i don't know, but no sense in asking questions when your saving money, right?:). Tell him a repeat customer named Robert Morrow sent ya, he should remember me and hook you up!!!

Message: Has anyone tried the Max Super White Xe bulbs? I am looking for the bright white look. Also, does anyone know what wattage to use for a 2002 dak? Midnight Moose has them in 65/55watts and 100/80watts. I would like to use the 100/80watt bulbs but I am affraid that they will damage my headlight enclosures due to the high heat they produce. Would I also have to upgrade the wiring and fuses to handle the higher current?
Thanks,
Dominic

Message: Dominic, I am using the higher wattage bulbs in both my Daks, they do put off some serious heat but so far no melted wiring(I have checked a couple times since I had heard rumors of meltdowns). I have been using them for over 3 months now with no damage to the headlight lense or enclosure and the extra wattage does make a huge difference that you can see:)
RECOMMENDATION/FYI to all bulb buyers: Stay away from the blue "HID look" bulbs unless you really want that look and don't drive at night outside of the city limits. I have seen some cars driving around town with these on and the entire light pattern is blue which is not optimum for night driving, all the wattage the alternator could push wouldn't get the light beam out half as far as my bulbs. The new generation Xenon's like mine have a very very bright white light with a mild blue hue to it. It looks as close to HID as I have seen and actually does increase nighttime visibility. The second best mod I have done to my two Dak's so far next to exhaust... vroooooommmm!!!!
I am starting to feel like the Harlow Wilcox of Xenon bulbs, lol. If I start rhyming my sentences, just slap me:) No offense Harlow.

Message: Thanks to 2THEXTRE, and Jeff at the midnight moose...
Ordered on Monday, received bulbs on Thursday... Ordered Eaglite 9007's and 893's.. Both sets came neatly packaged..
Installed the headlamps last night, plan to hit the fog's tonight.
The only problem I see is that the 893's are repackaged, intentionally with a note stating that it is for quality reasons, with styro-peanuts packed around the bulbs, assume to keep them from gettting chipped up in tarnsit. One of the bulbs doesn't look to clear, looks like the styro stuck to the glass, I will try celaning it up before installing and hopefully all will end happily..
thanks again 2THEXTRM for the tip, and also to Jeff at MidnightMoose for the quick response and shipment.

Message: The fog lites are in now, and they are nice..
The 893's I purchased Eaglite 893 are 50w. http://midnightmoose.com/893.htm
The stock factory fog lites were 35w, so they outshine those by far..
Again thanks to dodgedakotas.com for this forum, 2THEXTRM for the tip, and Jeff at http://midnightmoose.com for the product and service
