Message: cool man, i have a 97 5.2, was cleanin my engine today, and thought of the same exact idea, instead of goin through and changin the whole intake, i figure why not just use the stock box, and route a hose to the rubber flap near the radiator, stock, its practicaly almost a cold air intake ne way, im thinkin bout doin what u did, and relocating my iat also, cool man, ttyl

Yeah, it made a slight improvement by relocating the IAT. Enough that I haven't moved it back to the manifold. MPG is OK also @ 17-19.
Probably could get a cooler reading by putting the IAT closer to the air inlet.

Message: Wow, you're getting 17-19mpg - do you have a 3.9??. I only get 12-14mpg out of my 318 in my '99 Club Cab 2wd.

Message: Good job, very similar to what I did. Lowes has a black flex 4" hose for a sawdusk catcher. I sllit a 4" sawdust waste gate and used one piece on the filter box and one piece one the radiator bulkhead. Keep up the good work.
