Subject: Leaking Water? IP: Logged
Message: My truck leaks water from the passenger side engine compartment right behind where the starter is. I can't get a fix on the exact location although it looks like the same leakage/condensation I get when I run my A/C. I haven't run the A/C in about a week and the thing still leaks. Is it possible that some component in my A/C system is frozen up (no pun intended) which is causing the compressor to stay engaged?
Any info would be greatly appreciated

Message: The compressor will also spin when you have the defroster running in any of it's modes. Did you have that running?

Message: I've checked inside the cab, and it is bone dry. I'm gonna assume it is from the A/C compressor for now.... unless somebody has another suggestion. Thanks for all your feedback.

Message: Guys,
The problem is the a/c condensation is not flowing outside the vehicle but draining directly into the cab.
Check out www.dodgedakotas.com/boards/gen/7229.html or 7317.html or do a search on "water in the cab".
This is a known problem on the forum and with Dodge.
I own a 2001 extended cab. My passenger side carpet is soaked. I just got back from the Daytona Dodge dealership. They know of the problem and have issued a TSB. I have to take it in Monday and they'll install a new discharge tube and dry out my carpet. Although I'm going to push for replacing my carpet.
I'll check back on Monday with the results of my visit.

Message: the water is from the "engine compartment" not inside the cab, really read his post, James most likely nailed it. Blue thunder has a different problem and he too most likely hit it, or his heater core leaks.
