Message: I had more than one tribologist (lubrication engineer) tell me that the molecular structure of synthetic oil is why it is more tenacious (the act of clinging) than petroleum oil and that a light film of any oil will prevent dry start-ups however a good synthetic will flow to the bearings faster and provide better overall lubrication.
