Subject: Intake done, One question though.

I put in a new intake. K&N with 3" abs just like everyone else did. I noticed that the truck is a little louder. BUT I don't think I notice a difference in the speed. Is it just me? Does it take a few hours of driving for the computer to learn or anything like that? If I were to add a new free flowing muffler would that help out too? Right now it is a stock exhaust 2002 V8 4.7 club cab. Thanks!

I also just finished my 3" PVC intake, but i used a bigger filter than everyone else, so i had to "modoify" anthony's design My truck already has 2 flowmasters and th third cat is removed I hd the airaid on it but i pulled itbecause it is junk IMO. I can tell a little difference, but it does take the 4.7's a while to recognize modifications...longer than the other magnums I hear.

Hope this helps a little
Jared

The stock 4.7 intake is as about as good as it gets for performance.

I agree with Bob W. For grins I was going to try taping off the air baffles in the airhat at the throttle body to see what happens. The stock intake also gets its air from the cowl area at the top of the passenger side fender, which provides for higher air pressure than trying to get direct air through the front grill. Remember cowl induction on the old Chevelles? At least that is what I think, I am sure there are lots who will disagree.

The air intake is a mod to be done down the road. The 4.7 isn't really that hard to get performance out of. Just ask Matt Barret 242 RWHP with his 4.7. That is far from stock.

I got an immediate, noticeable increase in performance once I put on the 360 intake.
