Message: Anyone out there know if the locknut and screw sticking out of the top of the steering gear (98 Dak) is like the olden days for taking the play out of the steering. Everything else is tight, and new.
Thank you for your time.

Message: Hey Ken, I am not sure if you have already received an answer to this question but the answer is yes. It will take play out of your steering as long as the steering gear is not worn. You should unscrew the lock-nut just loose enough where you can turn the adjusting screw 1/8" at a time. Make sure you do not do over adjust, it can cause your steering not to come back to center when you turn. Hope this helps.
