Subject: How long should my stock muffler last? IP: Logged
Message: Hey, I have a 93 3.9 CC with 94,000 miles on it. I still have the original exhaust and it seems to be just fine, I live in Wisconsin too, so it has seen salt and snow for 9 years. I'm kinda waiting for it to go so I can get a flowmaster. I was just wondering how long everyone elses lasted.

Message: My muffler on my 2001 Dak. lasted 1 month before I replaced it with a Ravin exhaust. As far as how long the muffler should last, I have no idea.

Message: Well that is a loaded question. It depends what the exh. system is made out of. My mom had a 1991 Plymoth Laser that we bought through AAFES in Germany and it had a SS exh. The car spent most of it's life split between Georgia and Michigan. It still had the factory exh. when she traded it in last year. If you have aluminized steel and live in the south then it will last almost forever, if you live any place that uses salt in the winter then you will get about 3 years. I am not looking for increased power from my exhaust just durability and long life. I am going to get a Borla cat back system. I am going to buy SS tubing and replace all of the factory pipeing as well. I hate haveing to do things more then once. I am still looking for some good cats' that are entirely SS.

Message: they warranty the exhaust for 7 years or 80,000 miles.
So It should last til 81,000 miles so when it fails you have to pay for it. LoL
