Message: You'll need a clutch removal tool for the A/C unit.

Message: It thread in ? When I remove the nut I don't see where the tool would thread in . I just get tired of the people at the A/C shops saying I will have to replace the compressor . Have you ever pulled the clutch and pulley off of a Dodge A/C unit ? 1993 vintage ? Thanks again .

Message: Yes...and yes you'll need a tool for that. The tool doesn't thread in but rather holds the clutch from turning so you can get the nut off and remove the clutch. Then, you'll need some snap-ring pliers to remove the snap ring from the clutch...and then, you'll need a clutch removal tool to remove the pulley.
