All right heres my problem, as of right now I have a glasspack with non mendral bent daul pipes. I want to get the most torque and acceleration out of my 3.9, either replace my glasspack with a Flowmaster and keep the dual non-mandrel bent pipes or go with a hole new gibson exhaust. And I can't decide between the duals or the single pipe. Power is my first priority, sound is second. Lets get a vote with out any recounts!!!! HA HA HA!

New Muffler/old pipes VS. Gibson single exit VS. Gibson dual rear exit

I Want more POWER!!!!!

Thanks for your time guys!

I have the single 3inch exit out of side and i really like it on my 4.7. I recomend gibson to anyone...price is right and the product is high quality. If you do any towing they don't recomend that you use rear exit exhaust because of carbon manoxide. The power gain between the two is so minimal that you wouldn't be able to tell a difference. Hope this helps

Stereo or Mono "Rumble" Sound...it's personal preference. I personally like the looks and sound of the dual-outlets.

I've heard both the single and duals and i'm really partial to the duals...they just sound better.

As for power gains...they're both tuned for max performance...either one works just fine.

I suppose that the muffler/old pipes is the loser, if they were mandrel bent I'd keep them. I like the duals because they way they look, is that glasspack really all that bad? A lot of people don't like the way it sounds but, some do.
Just about every truck I see here in Wisconsin has the duals, I know a kid with a 93 V6 Dak I have to find him because he has the single Gibson. Looks great with the big 3-inch pipe behind the wheel. Will the Gibson be as loud as the glasspack? During the winter I have a cap on the back of the truck, usualy the condensation coming out of the pipes will draft against the back window making the whole back of my truck smoke. Why doesn't Truckperformance have a gibson listed for a 94 V6/shortbed/regular cab? Did they stop selling it?

Sorry if this is bad question, but what do you mean by "sounds awesome"? I want to make some mods to my truck this spring, but I don't want anything that will wake up the neighbors (really -- they're nice neighbors). Will the Gibson be louder than the muffler that came with my truck?

Thanks for any help.

If you have the V6...it won't be much louder than the stock...the tone will be deeper...I haven't heard it on the V8

I finally got to Gibsons website, they do not make the duals for my 94, only the single side exit 3" pipe. Hey how much for a whole fuel pump and assembly for my truck cost? The gas gauge is gone for good and I was told that I had to replace the whole assembly.

My truck is a 4.7. Sounds like mostly, the sound would be different and not necessarily louder.

Is there a site where I could buy a Gibson? I can get Dynomax locally (maybe it's just as good?), but I owuld like a chance to compare.

I have a 1990 dakota 4x4 and I put a Thrush glasspack on it, took off the cat, and put a glassedpacked chrome tip, and it sounds real good at higher rpms. I have a friend with a 89 dakota and he has the same truck as me but he has a turbo muffler on it and I whoop him on the street.
