Subject: Which fuse? IP: Logged
Message: This isn't really a big deal but I was wondering which fuse controls the light ring around the ignition switch and which one controls the dash light for the seat belt? Ever since I bought my truck neither one have lit up. Just curious.
Thanks,
J

Mine never has either... hmm... wonder if there are even bulbs in there...

Message: In my 93 V6, it's not a fuse but a relay that controls the light ring (and the floor light that goes off a few seconds after you shut the doors). It is the smaller of 2 silver cylindrical devices in the fuse panel. If you have your manual, its referred to as "timed delay" or something close to that.
Found mine because it was hot to the touch when I was messing wiht the fuse panel. This was becasue I'd had the door open of an extended period of time, messing with the fuses.
Hope this helps!

While I cannot really answer your question on either of these, I do want to ask if your ignition halo ever worked? In a cost-savings effort, DC slowly quit wiring up a LOT of these little niceties in the '99-'00 model years, and I think the ignition halo was the first one to go...followed by the ash tray light, front cup holder light (might only have existed in the Durangos), console light, etc.

Message: I had that problem in my old Ranger. Initially, I could unbolt & unplug the female end of the seat belt & hose the inside out with electrical contact cleaner, but, eventually, the switch therein went completely out. I ended up going to a Pick-and-Pull, and walked out with a scavenged buckle for $8....worked great for the remaining four years that I had the truck.
Hope that helps...

Message: So, A 2001, slt Quad, should, or could have the halo light on the key?
Why, oh why would DC discontinue such a simple, small thing.
I guess I should be glad that my SLT came with the thick, under hood insulation with the Ram head imprinted under the hood! I heard they nixed that one also.
