Subject: What would happen.... IP: Logged
Message: What would happen if were to put leaf springs from a 93 reg cab 4x2 onto my 93 CC 4x4. Would this work to lower my back end a little to be even with my front. Would they even fit?
Thanks

Message: I'm not sure about the earlier years, but with the newer ones, they are the same leaf springs. It's just that they are run under the axle in the 4x2's & over the axle in the 4x4's.

Message: the 4x4 leaf spring for the older ones seem to have a larger arch. I could be wrong.

Message: Given the lack of other responses, I'd have to say that you are venturing into semi-untravelled territory. If it were me, here's what I'd look at:
1.) Take a width measurement off of both spring packs to ensure that one isn't wider than the other.
2.) If possible, measure the the length--from eyelet to eyelet--of each spring pack. Try and get the measurements either with the vehicle weight on the springs or with no weight on the springs.
3.) Check for any difference(s) between the spring packs. Do they both have the same number of leaves? Is one spring pack "thicker" than the other (i.e. are their more leaves, or are the leaves thicker)? Thicker leaves, a thicker leaf pack, or larger number of leaves may require a longer U-bolt to mount them.
With that information in hand, you should have a really good idea as to whether or not they will bolt right up.
Hope that helps!!
