Hey guys.. Just had a question.. Will this type of filter setup

work on my v6 dak.. like if i were to just buy the setup and have it put on will it work..
If so what is it called..LOL sorry im a little dumb with some terms on engine stuff.. Thanks alot.

That is a setup for a ramair hood. The foam ring seals the airbox the the hood so in theory it only gets cold air. The problom is you have to have a ramair or cowl induction hood. Your probobly off getting an open element over geting the foam thing too. Or you could look into a coldair kit depending on the year of your truck.

Yea well i meant about getting an open element .. thats the only pic i knew of.. so i mean no foam ring just the open element one..
Is that possible??Less restrictive on air flow?

After looking at a 99' v6 i know the filter I have will not fit. The firewall is too close to the TB. I would suggest looking at one of the many cold air kits out there. One of those would probobly give better results anyway rather than pulling in hot air like the open elements do.

Yea it probably would be more functional.. but i like the style of the open element alot more.. oh well.. maybe i can find one somewhere.. thanks anyways..
