Been runnin' it in mine since 4,000 miles. 18,000 miles on it so far, not one problem. When I change the filters at 30,000 miles I am going to have it tested, the fluid that is. Good luck Erin.

Do you think it would be a problem if Im doing it with 45,000 miles on the truck already? Its only had the mopar fluid in it so far.

Thanks for the replies

I have had Redline Synthetic in my 45RFE for over 5000 miles and it works great. It is 100% synthetic and they make a fluid just for Chrysler transmissions. They call theirs C+ATF. I do not trust Amsoil's "Universal" transmission fluid. Redline is $1.00 dollar less then OEM ATF+4. I bought mine from www.myoilshop.com . It took 8 quarts to fill my trans up after I drained and changed filter's and fluid.

I too changed over to Amsoil tranny fluid. After a scare when the filter wasn't installed correctly, all seems well. I also put it in the transfer case since I had to buy 5 gallons to do the flush out.

Sandman,
How much is the Redline ATF per Qt ?

I have been using the AMSOIL for years and I use
it in My Chevy, My Dodge and my Fiances Ford
Explorer (including the powersteering system) and
all of these vehicles have high mileage.

I can buy the AMSOIL "universal" ATF and the
Powershift Racing Transmission Fluid for $5.50 per
qt. as a preffered customer.

It is $7.95 per quart. Chrsler ATF+4 is $8.99 per quart at all the dealerships in my area. I was considering the prefered customer thing with Amsoil. I want to try their Tri-Guard system. I am realy interested in the bypass filtration system. That is a good price. It is only $.55 more then Mobile 1 oil. You know I realy like Amsoil products. What I do not like is the marketing tactics they use. The corperate site is fine It is distributors that drive me crazy. Quite a few of them will spread half truths about their competitors. They total ignore their products short comeings and if you ask them about it they will change the subject. No product is perfect all have some short comeing. When you confront them about something they said that was not completely accurate they never answere you. They clam up for a while and then they start over again with the exact same info like a broken record. I think it is about repetition and exposure. The more times they can get their message out for free the more sales they will generate. I went to the corporate site last night and I looked through their entire site and not once did I see any reference to Redline Synthetic oil. If it is there I did not see it. I am not saying that these guys are wrong about their product being better then Redline API approved Synthetic. What I am saying is that I could not find any independent lab results.I also could not find any Dyno results. If you are going to talk badly about a competitors products you should at least back it up with independent lab test and the conditions of the test. You might want to state what criteria you are useing to say you are supior! I would also recomend that anyone considering Amsoils products atleast check out Redline's site and read through their information. I think that the truth lie's someplace between Amsoil's site and Redline's site. Both want to sell you oil so they both have some bias!!!

Most major oil companies (including OEM) are slighting consumers because the base stocks and additives packages are the minimum quality needed to pass specs (which may be the case with Mopar - do your own check as I don't know and don't want to bash unintentionally).

Therefore, the proliferation of synthetics for "better" performance. As is the case, consumers are wiseing up and demanding 100% TRUE Synthetics in their new trucks, and as replacement fluids.
