Message: i have a '98 4X2 3.9L 5 speed. i bought it with a 3 inch body lift and BFG 31" on the stock aluminium rims, which i thought was pretty nice looking. i had recently added a grill guard and noticed that i doesnt line up because of the body lift. F**k!!! I can modify the brackets so that it lines up with the rest of the truck or i can forget it and sell the grill guard so that i can afford a drop kit. i understand that i should take off the body lift, but what kind of work is that? looks kinda tough to do in your driveway. do you think there is steering linkage that i have to take off also? please tell me what you think. thanks

Message: I'd modify the brackets. A good welder could fab up your brackets 3" higher pretty cheaply, IMO.

Message: ok well if im going to keep the body lift i want to go higher so that i can stop ripping my exhaust off and digging my tow hitch into the ground. do ya know where i can find a decent suspension lift. how is fabtech and do you think $700 for a 3" lift for a 4X2 lift is really worth it?

Message: I got a 4x4 so I can't help much. Probably better to start up a new thread in the 'Raised' forum. Alot of people there with lifted 4x2's that will be able to help.
