Message: The manufacturer's Ram Air setup is for factory air intakes... I have a 360airintakez.com K&N setup so I can't directly port the air into the intake, but the vent from the hood exits right above my K&N so I do get more cold air available instead of drawing it in from the hot engine bay.

Message: Awesome pics, SinCity!! Although, I have to say that you "street'ers" are really starting to kill me. As if it isn't bad enough that I have thousands of dollars into my 4x4 QC for accessories & bolt-ons, now I am getting the bug to buy another Dak (used), and join you guys too!! Let's face it, when done tastefully, the Daks look toooo damned good lowered!!

I love the clear/chrome/grey and silver combo - looks monotone without being too boring. That's why I ordered my Dak in SILVER too.

Message: Douglas: It's a Checker Products Checkmate FX Tonneau. $329 plus shipping. Between the fact that I don't leave anything worth more than $5 in my truck (even in the bed) plus Vegas weather won't test how waterproof it is, it should be an excellent tonneau. The finish isn't the best (you can see fiber strands all over) unless you primer it a zillion times, but it still looks very nice. www.checkerpro.com for info.
Halo3: I know the feeling. The last truck I had before this was an '86 Toyota 4x4. Doesn't sound like much until you see the options list: 4" Suspension lift, 33x12.5x15 AT's, 4.56 gears, detroit locker, monstrous custom front/rear bumpers, nerf bars, big roll bar with a custom 8-bulb overhead rack (6F 2R), full stereo with subs, etc. Had well over 170k on the odo and more than half of that was spent climbing some of the harshest trails Colorado and Nevada had to offer. Unfortunately it got stolen and stripped down to the frame about 3 years ago :( - Since there aren't anywhere near as many 4x4 trails out here to enjoy I decided to go with a street truck this time around.

Message: Douglas: The Checkmate FX tonneau is a decent tonneau, but like the saying goes: you get what you pay for. It's not a total piece of crap, but the $600-1000 tonneaus do provide a better finish, thicker fiberglass, and better waterproofing than this $300 one. I live in a warm/dry climate all year round and never leave anything worth more than $5 in my truck so the Checkmate was a good mix of form/function at a cheap price for me.

Message: My truck is factory 2001 Bright Silver Metallic. I recently had the hood, bumper cover, tonneau, and roll pan mounted and painted, but it was a color match.

Message: Stallion: They're Showoff Krypton bulbs I bought off E-Bay. They've been on the truck for nearly a year without any troubles.
juniork: I like doing a lot of fiddling with my truck, aside from this year's tax refund my budget is actually rather small. I removed the factory stickers, and used the 5.9 R/T from a Durango R/T, and the DODGE is from the 2002 Ram 1500. They're just peel and stick.
