Subject: Bug Deflectors IP: Logged
Message: I am considering getting a bug deflector for my '02 QC. I have heard some stories about some brands have a tendancy to trap junk between them and the hood...and after a while, that junk begins to rub into the paint. So I geuss what I'm wondering is, what brands you yall recomend?

I am soon getting an EGR Superguard 3-pc bug deflector in clear, and having it painted to match the truck. The place I ordered it from has photos of their work, and they did another dak in Atlantic Blue with the same deflector painted to match, and it looked really good. I will let you know how it looks personally next Wednesday.

I got the "officially sancitioned" Mopar bug guard. No complaints after two years of wear & tear.

Message: You know, I hate to say it but I don't know. The bug guard & the tonneau were both parts of my purchasing negotiations.

Message: The Mopar hood deflector attaches with 4 screws to the plastic grille and the fender deflectors are "no drill", they have clips that hold themselves to top of headlight.
Right now I have the Mopar 3-piece. I just ordered the clear Lund Interceptor which I will paint to match my truck. The Lund hood deflector attaches between grille and hood some how and it looks cleaner than the Mopar IMO, the fender deflectors appear to attach the same as factory. I will need to touch up the 4 holes with a little silicone and touch-up paint. They should not be noticeable since I have the SS grille inserts.

I didn't even think about the main piece. I was so fixated on how the "eyebrows" attach that I completely forgot that there were four screws holding the main guard in place.

Message: I was starting to wonder if you had every washed your poor Dak before to not notice the screws, LOL.
