Is there anyway possible to get the 392 hemi engine ordered from the factory in the r/t's or do you have to get it after u ordered your r/t? and where could i find a six speed transmission to go into it. I know it will be a custom job but can dodge do it??

392 Hemi? No such beast available from the factory in a production vehicle. The only engine available for the R/T is the 5.9L 360ci engine with a 4-speed transmission.

As far as I'm aware, the only car in Daimler-Chrysler's stable that comes with the 6-speed is the Viper, and it would cost a considerable chunk of change to buy one and have your truck modified to accept one.

I'd say only the 'you have WAY too much money and time on your hands' crowd could pull this off... I've heard of a couple of people who've done it but we're talking a very small handful out of the hundreds of thousands of Dakotas out there.

The only way you're going to get that combo is to build everything yourself, or if you have a deep pocket have someone build it for you. The 392's have'nt been issued by Chrysler since the late 60's if I'm not mistaken. You're best bet would be to get a crate motor and a Borg-Warner 6 speed, if that's what you really want, and get the adapter plates to match them together. Possibilities are endless if you have the money to spend.

Well that's what i was going to do is order the 402 crate motor and put in it i was just wondering about the 392 because i seen them somewhere for a concept r/t in like 2003 but i believe i will stick with the 402 crate motor does anyone know where to get a 5 or even a 6 speed for crate motors???
