Ok...I purchased a set of the Hiper Industries "HID" Xenon Gas Filled 9007 Bulbs for my truck...as a test only. ($26.50 for the set w/shipping)

These bulbs are GARBAGE! (Just as I thought)

They don't light up the street as claimed, they have a blue tint to them (on the bulb and on the street), at dusk...you can't even see them on the street (unlike my old 80/100W Bulbs - reinstalled now), and they don't have a "Satisfaction Guaranteed" claim...just a 90-Day (No money Back) warranty.

I've taken some pictures with my 35mm Minolta (Digital didn't show everything) and the pictures will be developed by tomorrow afternoon. I'll try to post them up on my website later on tonight. (BTW: The eBay ad is run by some person called Xenongod@aol.com (DBA: Initial K Concepts, Inc.). Do NOT buy these bulbs unless you want to waste your money. My KC Daylighters work better than this crap.

http://www.24hiper.com is the actual website for the product. A FTC Complaint has already been filed and have already received an answer from the FTC. I'm filling out their paperwork along with the (to be developed) pictures.

I have the blue xenon bulbs in my Dakota now and I have to drive with my Brights on all the time so I can see. They’re so dim that the light of other cars blinds me.
But they really look cool to oncoming traffic so

I have the same lights and I dont have a problem with them being dim. I drive with my fogs on all of the time anyway.

They do seem to be a little dimmer though.

Bernd,

I too am dissatisfied with the OEM 9007 lights on my 2000 Dak CC; driving at night is not very safe nor enjoyable on winding country roads with a heavy deer population.

Anyway, I have several questions regarding the 80/100W bulbs you have in your Dak.

1. Did you have to install a relay or can the wiring/switch handle the hotter bulb without risk of wiring/switch damage?
2. Do the 80/100W bulbs have a low beam cutout to avoid blinding other traffic?
3. Which brand of 9007 bulbs did you use? Hella? I have a set of Hella H4 80/100W bulbs in my '84 VW Gti and they do a great job of increasing visibility.
4. Which web sites are the best for the 80/100W Dak bulbs?
5. What is the link with the headlight photo jpegs?

Lastly, do I need to use a 180F thermostat with the Autolite 3923's or do I need to use the 3924's with the OEM thermostat?

Thanks in advance,

No problems with the wiring (went right in and slightly brighter). Mine were from a generic company (Hamsar).

No 180 T'Stat required for the 3923's. But, the engines do respond better at 180 degrees (actually 185). However, there's been mixed results with the 4.7's and the 3923's...some noticed slight gains...others didn't.

LMAO. These lights are brighter than stock. Ya’ll just have crapy vehicles :-D The first guy sounds like he's comparing to other lights witch is not stock. They claimed it is "Twice as bright as the stock bulb" not compared to others. I always get flashed by other cars cause they think I have my brights on. I flash them back and blind the sh!t out of them. :-D But then again my bulb type is H4. Don’t know if that would have a different brightness compared to 9007.
