Subject: Awful Idle IP: Logged
Message: Well, i thought my problems were fixed but I guess not. I noticed today when I started up the Dak that it was idling high. I let it sit for a few minutes and it came down. I was out on the road and it died at a stoplight. No trouble starting back up but i noticed the tach bouncing at idle. It usually idles in drive at about 400RPM. Since I started it again a few minutes ago and it is horiffic. It just bogs and stumbles at all RPMs. I'm not sure if it's a bad sensor somewhere(I can't remeber having to ever change out any sensors and it's a 94'). I guess i'll try changine out the plugs tonite and seeing if that helps at all, but i think it might be more. All the wires are fairly fresh. Any other ideas?

Message: try reseting the 'puter
disconnect the battery, hop in and turn the key for about 20 sec, reconnect the bat.start it up(keep your foot off the gas for one whole minute)then shut it off, then start it back up.it should run better after all that!

Message: dakdar, I saw your post just after i posted. I changed the sparkplugs and it seems all kinds of better at the moment. They are gapped about .045" to take advantage of the MSD ignition. I looked at the old plugs and they are eroded way down. Looks like maybe .060", but i didn't check yet. I figure it may have gotten to the point where it just couldn't bridge the gap. We'll see.
While I was checking out at autozone the guy there put on a clown nose. Kind of odd. Then on my way home in the 99' intrepid ES some guy in an early 90's Audi sedan reved at me. Pretty eventful night i suppose.

Message: I had the same problem with my 94. It was wanting to stall one me, misfiring, and surging and bucking. After changing wires, cap and rotor, I still had the problem and got a check engine light. It turned out to be a bad 02 sensor. One that determines how much fuel to send to the engine, it wasn't sending enough fuel to the engine which caused it not to run properly.

Message: I went out to the hardware store to get some stuff for my ram air install and it ran fine till I got in the driveway and let it idle. Maybe it is the O2 sensor. Have to drag out the haynes book
