Well i've got over 32,000 miles on my 2000 Dak in just about 2.5 years.

Anyone have any suggestions as to what i might look for or have checked out before my warranty expires?

I'm going to be in the same boat soon (28,000).

Call the Dealer and ask the service guy what he recommends. I believe they make good money off of warranty service work and would tell you the necessary things you should do.

I have developed a pretty good relationship with my local Dealer and I think they will be helpful when the time comes for me.

My local dealer is a PRICK cause i bought my truck from their biggest rival...a nearby dealer in NH. Won't make that mistake again.

Evening guys, being a Dealership techfor the last 25 years or so,up until 2 years ago,if you look in the back of your owners manual, there is a recomemded maintenance scedule. this may not be for free! but it will keep your trucks up to snuff. also look your trucks over before you go in, are there any fluid leaks, rattles ,anything that doesn't work, those kinds of things. add these to your list. I always hated the warrenty itis idiots that came in and only wanted what was free done. if i suggested any customer pay work along with the free stuff,,,, i was a crook! no just trying to keep you running up to par.if you get some of the maintenance done with your grocery for free list, you'll probubly get a little more cooperation from the tech. he gets paid by the job,not by the hour.a little cp helps offset the loss you take doing warrenty work. hope this helps. sorry for being so windy!!!! lol

One of the most important things to do BEFORE the
warranty is out is to have an oil analysis done.
This will check for many different problems including
coolant contamination (leaking head gaskets,cracked
block. etc.) cost is about ..... $15.00

yes sir,but just tell them what all you need done and they can do your service work at the same time. the guys will be more than happy to do your oil change and tire rotation, our shop even had a special for that.hope this helps, sorry if i get a little fussy at times about people raggin on the dealerships. I made a good honest living as a dealership tech for a long time. Just time to move on.I have about 50 grand in tools sitting in the garage collecting dust right now and it dosen't bother me a bit. hope i can be of help on this forume in the future.
