Subject: I may be a new dakota owner IP: Logged
Message: just wanted to say hi guys, and this sat. i might buy a 2000 dakota club cab, 2wd, 3.9 w/ 27kmiles. I am an avid s-10 fan but this deal is just too good to pass up. I now have a 94(2nd gen) s-10 ext. cab 4x4 and i love it, just geting up there in miles. only thing i am a little wary of is losing the 4wd and the 3.9 scares me. i have heard stories of how slow they are and what not. how are they guys, this truck has an auto tranny too. the truck is absolutely loaded w/ a power sunroof too. i will probably not have more than 8500 into this truck after i fix it, so i might be on here alot asking questions and what not. anyways just wanted to say hi, cya around

Message: As a former S-15 owner all I can say is....buy the Dak and don't look back.
I have the 3.9 with the 5-speed, 2wd. I don't really feel it's underpowered, but I don't tow anything either.

Message: Although I've never driven a 6 cylinder Dakota, they are nice sized little run-around trucks. other compact trucks felt, well, compact.

Message: I have the exact same truck except it's a 2001 and no sunroof. I love mine to death. As far as not having 4WD, unless you live in a really snowy area or go offroading you won't mind having 2wd. The V6 kinda guzzles gas, but does have some decent pep to it. I'd go for it if I were you.
