Message: Anyone tryed this size on their Dak? Tirerack.com has these from Goodyear for $87. Pretty good deal I think. It's only an S rated tire I know but I don't go that fast anyhow. Will they rub up front? Will they stick out of the wheel wells? Are they just to wide? The traction would be nice. Right now i'm running 235/65-15's. I have a set of 16x8's to put the new tires on. I've seen 295/55-15's on an RC dak. It looked pretty cool.

I've got Goodyear Eagle #1 Nascar 285/60-16s on the rear-end 16x8 wheels.
No problems.

Message: How does it ride? How much taller than stock are they? How far out of the wheel wells do they stick? Those are the exact tires I was looking at. I'm going to put them on a '00 CC 2wd.

They ride nice, a little more noise than the stock LS.
Since you are going from 235/65-15 to 285/60-16 .. you are are looking at about 2.5" height difference. Going from my stock 255/65-16 to the 285/60-16 I only gained 0.4", so it was no big deal.

Message: What about sticking out of you wheel wells? The ride height sounds good. The tires I currently have leave way to much of a gap in my wells as far as height goes.

Does your Dak have flares or no?
Mine does, so the width isn't an issue.

Message: dumb question but isn't the difference in overall diameter by changing the tires (provided you're not doing the exact plus 1 conversion) going to affect the accuracy of your speedometer?

Normally you would be correct about the speedo, but it all depends what you are going from to.
In my truck for example, by changing from the stock 255/65-16s and going to 285/60-16s my speedo will be out by approx. +1.42% .. or 60mph on the speedo is actually 60.85mph
Going from 235/65-15s to 285/60-16s, would put the speedo out by approx. +9.01% .. or 60mph on the speedo is actually 65.40mph.
