What brand do yall recomend for new valve cover gaskets? Where can I get them? I have seached this site a few times and the internet too, and I am having trouble finding a good brand. What does everyone recomend? Thanks.

You can't beat the factory ones. Steel reinforced rubber gasket. It is reusable as well.

CW, I've got a leak in mine, i think i am loosing oil all the time. You say that the factory ones are the best, would you recommend getting some OEM gaskets from the dealer? Or from a parts store?

I really don't know what the aftermarket has to offer. This is one of the few things that I say to go and get factory again.

I got my gaskets at Auto Zone steel reinforced rubber. Just check at your local parts store and ask them what kind they have.

What about Fell-Pro? Or maybe a set from Mr. Gasket? What is the best material to get? Rubber? Cork? Something else?

I'd just run down to NAPA or somewhere and get the steel reinforced rubber gaskets. They will probably be about $30 but they should never leak and are reusable.

I work in the automotive aftermarket business, and some argue, "OE is better" "aftermarket is better" Well I'll tell you first hand. See Dana owns aftermarket corporations. Dana also owns plants that make parts for OE (gaskets, bearings, pistons, rings, etc..) A lot of the time the plant owned by Dana or Federal Mogul, will sell the exact same part they're making in the line for OE, just take off the tool that stamps the ford, chevy, dodge, etc.. logo on it and put an FM, Clevite 77, Victor Reinz logo on it, and sell it to their aftermarket companies.
I don't know if this helps, but what I would do is go to the dealer, see what their gasket looks like then go to the zone/Napa whatever, and compare.

A plugged pcv valve will cause you to blow out your valve cover gaskets, you may want to replace it at the same time, as the presure that builds up in the crankcase needs to vent some where, and when it does it takes out seals and gaskets all over the place.
