I'm not sure of '96 linkages, but on a '97 - '99 v6-v8 swap, the linkage is a tad different. The pin for the v6 throttle cable is a ball whereas the pin for the v8 is shaped more like a "T". Either the shafts need to be swapped out, or carefully grind the throttle cable pin down so it fits. Other than that, it should be a direct bolt-on.
Oh, I've heard that the throttle body blades will rub the intake manifold on wide open, but I can't say for sure. If they do rub, then yu can always make a spacer out of a hardwood.

Message: I have a 95 Dak V6 Auto. I am using a 5.2 TB from a 94 Dodge Ram 318. the butterflys don't hit, although the bores on the manifold are a little smaller than the bores on the TB. I am thinking about boring them out, but that'll be a while. All the throttle linkages are a direct fit. Also while your at it, add a s-bolt, and chop off half of the front "block". I could tell it was running better after switching. Make sure you reset the computer. Once i hit 90 in OD, my truck wouldn't accelerate in OD. after adding the V8 TB it continues to pull, even in OD. after several other mods, it'll hit 110 in OD. ;-) don't tell the cops. well good luck. BTW throttle response it alot better. any more questions, feel free

The TB's will fit but the linkage is the question. You can grind the shaft a little bit (by the linkage) to slip the old linkage plate off and replace it with a correct one. (Take some practice and a small grinder though.)
The other option is easier:
Grind the disc stud flat and drill it out. Then, go to your local autoparts store and get a ballstud for a Holley Carburetor. Screw it in (use Lock-Tite RED on the threads) and tighten down the nut for the stud. (That's how I changed mine over on the factory V8 TB that I had installed.)
