Subject: Cylinder Head Volume IP: Logged
Message: Does anyone know whay the cylinder head volume(combustion space) on a Magnum 5.8L.
Trying to set up Dyno 2000 and it would be very helpful for accuracy. 92.38cc is what it says the combustion space is and that sounds awful high.

Message: Just set it up for a 9:1 comp don't try to caculate it. Don't expect accurate HP output if you don't have cylinder head flow numbers.

Message: I have the cylinder head flow numbers, have set up the cam specifics, fastman TB specs, my 30 over bore, and all other aspects, but the volume that it says seems rediculously high. Of course I am comparing this to all of the Fords I have worked with, so maybe they Magnums just have a huge amount of space. It may be correct, just wanted verification.

Message: 65cc heads I believe (need to dbl-check though).
Don't forget to add the deck height, gasket thickness, and cc's from piston dome (if applicable).
BTW: 5.9L ;)

Message: I believe it is the same as the older 273's, 57.3cc even though the heads are different. The 318's started with 60.3 then went up to 63 I think. 360/340's were at 65 and up.

Message: Could catch Bernd!!!5.9, been so used to putting 5.2 I screwed up. Broke a connecting rod on my 318 after one of the bolts came out(more power, toys). It was just laying in the bottom of the pan. Threads were still in perfect shape, it just worked its way out. Ever hear of this happening?
