Message: Has anyone installed a pistol grip shifter on their manual? I think this would be a really cool mod if it can be done.

Message: I think the only way to install a Pistol-grip shifter from the musclecar of the '70's is to cut the original handle and weld on the pistol-grip shifter to that part. Or if you have the bucks, you can install the new Tremec TKO transmission from Keisler automotive engineering. It's a new
5-speed tranny that has adapter plates to fit most of the Mopar cars from the '60s thru the '70s
For further info check the June 2002 Mopar Action magazine. The tranny will adopt all mopar shifter handles, including the location of the stick, to adapt to floors and consoles. Good luck

Message: If you mean Gunslinger I'm going to prototype the handle for him.
I didn't want to say anything about it until I had some pics or something to show. I approached him about it last year at Moparfest in New Hamburg, Ontario. Cool guy.
He's just finishing up the A-body one. For the record the handle will fit the two bolt Hurst mechanism. I thought I heard where someone was making a screw on handle to replace the stock knob but I think that would put the grip too high, anyhow I'll have some pic's of the initial trial fitting as soon as I get the handle from GS.
Cat is now out of the Bag. 8-)
