Subject: 15,500 good price for r/t? IP: Logged
Message: Im looking at a 99 extcab r/t with 63,000 miles on it right now and was wondering if this was a good price. And also how reliable do you think it will be in the future with this many miles on it already? Thanks Matt.

Message: Matt i would say thats not a good price. 63000 miles is alot of miles. I would defiantly try to get them to come off the price a bit on it. I just looked my truck up in kelly blue book and it listed for sumthing like 14,000. And its a 2000 dak spt CC, 4.7 v-8 auto, with fiber glass tonneau cover and fiber glass running boards and premium wheels, and it has just about every option u can get in a dakota......all these things were considered in my estimate.... o yah it has 61000 miles on it. But thats just my opinion...

Message: where do you live ? I know a guy that lives in massachusetts (just north of D.C.) that is selling an extended cab R/T 1999 in great shape with a few mods already for 16500... if you want more info, I cant post it here for you... he's a really nice guy... the only flaw with the truck is that it has a small bump on the drivers side rear bumper... it's also Solar Yellow (a color discontinued as of 99... which I love because so is mine)... lemme know...

Message: 15,500 is a horrible price, R/T's hold thier value a little better than a regular Dak. But that is ridiculous.

Message: With that many miles, I too agree it is a farily high price for a R/T. Depending on the mods to it though. Do you have more info on it, like what stuff the pervious owner has done to it. If it's basically stock, I wouldn't pay more than 12-13K. I own a R/T, and that's a bad price. Mine '99 has 96K and I wouldn't expect anyone to pay more than $11K for it despite all the mods I've done

Message: I agree as well. When I bought my Dak they had a 2000 R/T (I think...it was Solar Yellow, the last year they made them), CC, with 28K miles and EVERY imaginable option, and were going to sell it to me for $16K.

Message: Hey its Matt again yeah I thought that price was kinda steep. What do you all think I should pay for it? I looked it up in kelly blue book and the retail price was 14,600 but the dealer was trying to tell me that KBB was a wholesale price. Anyway I think it does have a PCM chip, new cam and traction control bars.

Message: The dealer don't know jack. You want to see what theypaid for it, check out the trade in value on KBB which for a fully loaded and in excellent condition would be $12,300. So don't pay more that $13,500

Message: i'll tell you what i have seen a couple steep r/t's too. one was a 98 intense blue reg cab full exhuast and round filter on the tb. it had 58,000 miles on it and they were asking 12,500 not to mention the bed was scratched to hell. also the salesman told my friend that looked at it that it had aftermarket heads. couple days later we found out he meant headers. to prove salesmen don't know SH!T. the other was a 99 solar yellow cc r/t. with almost 70,000 miles asking 15,500 it's been sitting at the dealership for almost 2 months and they have only dropped the price down to 14,500. Some bull sh!t
