Base SLT, Black, shortbox, RC 2X4, Sport. Carsdirect.com stated that they could get me one for $23500.00. Looks like a good deal. What kinda times are you expecting from it?

Message: $23500 is a great deal.My truck was just over $24000.As a matter of fact my truck is a black sport RC SB on 20's.Sharp!Times I'm not certain of this,but....0-60 i'd say -7sec. 1/4 around 14 sec.@ 90+ mph. That is purely a guess.I don't have a lot of experience with dragging and all.But based on the numbers of the dak R/T I'd say that's close. The Hemi is faster, almost 100 more hp,obviously it can't be slower.I'm sure no other truck with out a supergharger(phord),turbo or what ever stands a chance.

Message: i'm interested in getting the hemi 1500. i'm undecided on whether or not to get the 4x4. i want to lower the truck and customise it similar to the kenne bell supercharged 2500. what are your thoughts on 2wd or 4wd? i kinda like the idea of a 4wd because all 4 wheels are working. how much of a performance difference is there between the 2wd and 4wd i.e 0-60? also, any word on if/when the 6.1 hemi makes its way into the 1500? oh, and 1 more thing, whats the difference between the 3.55 axle and the 3.92 axle? any info would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Message: If your going to lower the truck stick with 2WD. The 4WD suspension is very different and makes it very difficult to lower a truck.
The 3.92 gears have a 10% higher gear ratio over the 3.55's. This gets the revs up in the engine quicker which generally means faster acceleration, if your tires hold the power. The only down side is reduced gas mileage. Depending on driving habits it may or may not be 10% less gas mileage.

Message: The day I picked my truck up it was snowing. There was that nice slush on the roads,as N.Y. uses SALT!(I know, what was I thinking?)I thought I'd have my hands full with a 2x4 and the power of the Hemi.NOT 1 PROBLEM!The motor is smooth as silk if you want it to be and the 3.92 anti-slip(posi?)didn't miss a beat.In fact I took the truck up a hilly back road with a couple of inches of snow to show a friend. That's with 20" Goodyear Eagle LS's..At any rate if you want get-up-and-go the 3.92 is what you want.If you are thinking about fuel economy the 3.55 is better, although I'm not sure you'll even notice. With the 5 speed auto that you have to get with the hemi the 3.92's are an even swap from the old 3.55's and the 4speed.If you don't get off road you probably have no need for the 4x4,but,I still watch how deep the snow gets.

Message: You know, the new 5.7, has a modulated throttle system. If you try for max performance, it backs off the throttle some, as a sort of traction control system I guess. Whereas the 4.7, etc. have a direct linked TB. I"m sure it's nice, but the driver is not getting to full power in all situations.

Message: I bet the 5.7 new is like a new 4.7, there is a break in period, for me it was about 500-600 miels before my 4.7 really woke up... unitl that point it felt dead compared to the 4.67 i traded in... now it is still not as powerful (the 2000 was decently modded) but it feels like a different truck that I picked up that day...
Just an opinion but I think this is actually programmed into the computer..
