Message: Well you could hit it really hard with a hammer. That would probably break it.
or just drive it easy for the first 1000 miles. Get that stock oil out of there and change it. drive the new oil for about 500 miles, and then put in new oil. That works pretty good.

Message: You could do that, or you could do what your owner's manual says. I believe it says something to the extent of "durring the breakin period, frequent full-throttle accelerations, while cruising (in accordance with local laws), should result in a good breakin."
If you think I'm kidding, look up break in or something to that extent in your owner's manual.

Message: That's how I broke mine in and I didn't even read the owners manual:) I have always broke in my new vehicles in this way and never had a problem, they new how they were going to be treated with TLC but were to expect hard acceleration and WOT all the time, LOL. I may beat'em but I also go over and above when it comes to care too.

Message: When I was breaking in my truck that way, I was turning at an intercestion and a Toyota Echo was behind me, I was outrunning him up a small hill (I was slowly accelerating)that followed the corner, but he finally passed me going down the hill a little while later (I was going 90KM/h), I think he had his foot to the floor for about a couple KM to get enough speed up, not that often that an Echo driver passes another vehicle :) funny thing, there was two guys in there and they were practically rubbing shoulders in that small car.
