Subject: Bending Noise... IP: Logged
Message: When I go over bumps now with my front end (leaving a parking lot for example), I hear an almost bending-metal type of noise. It sounds horrible. I guess I'll add that to the thumping brakes, ticking engine, infamous ball-joints, and my leaky exhaust noises.

Message: I know exactly what you're talking about. Mine did the same thing and it was caused by my passenger side torsion bar touching the side of a hole that it passed through. Since my torsion bars have been cranked a little I haven't heard the noise, but I also haven't looked to see if it is still touching or not. Check that and you'll probably find the source of the sound.

Message: I have the same noise in my 01 CC Dakota. I took it to the dealership and of course, "we couldn't hear anything". Is this a problem that needs to be fixed or is it something I should learn to live with? I guess I will have to take the service writer for a drive with me. It isn't the first time the dealer told me I was hearing things!
