Message: I have seen in the back of my owners manual that I can order a service manual for 90 bucks. Are these good detailed manuals that cover EVERYTHING on the truck, from interior to exterior? I sure hope they are better than Chiltons or Haynes manuals. Can someone help me out?

Message: same as what the dealership mechnics use when you take it in for service. remeber that it willnot give every simple thing it assumes you know a little about mechanics. it want tell you there a x number of bolt and so on but it will give you ten times the info of after market manuals. is it worth the money yes

Message: I have been getting factory ser. manuals for the last 5 out of six new vehicles I've acquired. I usually wait untill the next model year is introduced before I order them such as "00" manual ordered June "00".That way usually any
mid year changes are in it.

Message: Get it if you want to know how your truck works. I think one of the most useful tools is all the diagnostic charts...even if you don't do your own repairs they give you an idea of what might be causing a problem before taking it to a dealer, and since the service guys follow the diagnostic charts, you'll know what they're going to look at.

Message: Does anyone have a 2001 Service manual on CD? They sell them at http://www.techauthority.daimlerchrysler.com/
If anyone has the CD is it copy protected? I mean can you copy it on a cd burner? I might be willing to pay for a copy if I can get it for way less than the $90 chrysler sells it for.
Thanks
Kevin

Message: I don't know what year you are looking for... but there is one in the parts for sale section of dodgetrucks.org, I think he wants 20 or 30 bucks for it. It's a 97, great price, I paid $70 for mine.

Message: I got a 02 manual for christmas from my parents and it has the 2.4, 3.9, 5.2, 4.7, and 5.9 litre engines, great book. I never bother with Haynes or Chiltons, unless it's not my car I'm working with and they buy it (9 bucks online with shipping).

Message: Wolf, not too sure but I think there is a 'How-To' section of this webstie. Larry, a dodge mechanic guru, did a write up on the timing chain thing. His truck I think is a little newer than yours but might just work. Check out the homepage of this site. Its about half way down I think.

Message: Got mine off ebay. Factory manuals. 25 and 40 bucks . Nice shape used. I also bought a CD manual off ebay and it's total garbage. Maybe there are differant makers of these. I don't know. I was able to copy my CD no problem. I do this with everything I get that is copiable and use the copies myself rather then the original so if I screw one up I can just recopy.
So many problems ... So little time
