Message: Cheap tape job!
I installed mine today, and I'm wondering if these things are even gonna hold doing 25 down the street....The tape was put on the shades all crappy-like, and the strips that cover the 2 sided tape was damaged too...
I put em on anyway, because Ive been to 3 different truck places and couldnt find ones for my truck...finally found these at the place I ordered my new ARE lid from.
Anyway...I called the company that makes em and they said they have a lifetime guarentee...so we'll see....gonna go for a ride now.

Message: I hate my ventvisors, truck was relatively quiet until I stuck them on a couple months ago and now it sounds like I am caught in the wake of jet's afterburners. Wanted GTS but they are outta business and no longer make them:( I always had good luck with theirs, hardly any windnoise even though they were stick on. They are coming off in the spring and I am getting the Vent Shades that you got Dan, I like the fact that they are appear to be a lower profile and don't stick to the paint. Let me know on the install and wind noise, if they are just as noisy I probably will just leave them off. Thanks, Bob.

Message: Hey EXTRM...Bob
Great looking truck there.
Well I just went out and popped my Weather-flectors in, took about 15 min. in a warm garage.
Just got back from a test drive, it's windy & raining here in OH right now, I didn't detect any noise from cross wind like the Autoventshade, run it up to 80 still no wind noise.
These shades look like they came from the factory, well worth the extra money !

Don't let it get to warm when you take them off, I tried to use a little heat and the tape-glue gets like chewing gum it just stretches and breaks. BlackDak02 suggested WD40 I had good luck with that and just take your time, don't want to damage the paint!

I see that they also make some clip on ones...without the need for tape....dont know if they'll be any better...
Since I paid 60 bucks for the set of 4...I'm gonna keep em on until they fall off....I wish I would have heard these responses before I bought em...

Message: Well, now Im pissed. I like to think of myself as an educated consumer...I take my time, research products...consult forums and other online resources...but I made a total F###-up today by buying (and then installing) these Ventshades. They are very noisy and installed like shyte! they don't look bad, but for the same amount of money, I could have a product that people seem to be happy with.
Here's a link I posted on another thread for the "better" visors: http://www.truckstuffusa.com/winguarbywea.html
I'm gonna call Autoventshade tomorrow and tell them their product is a piece of shyte! If I can only get these super-glued visors off my paint without F###ing-up my finish, I'll send em back to em, and hope for a refund!
Anyone else have ventvisors they want to ship back...wouldnt it be funny if we got a huge box of these things to ship back to em..saying we want our money back! LOL!
Ah, I'm tired...another beer and its time for bed.

I feel your pain fellow Dakman, I now have a spare set to set on, I think I'll see if I can glue them on a Ford Ranger I drive at work hehe he.....
I think a lot of it is their design, We have a set of AutoVentShades on my wifes 98 Malibu and they are great, no wind noises from them, I think someone just had a brain fart while designing them for Dakotas.
better Days ahead :) :)

Yeah... I bought em too... and they absolutely SUCK!!!!
Maybe if they would have tucked the leading edge behind the mirror it would have been less noisy. I tried using some double sided tape to stick the front side down but I didn't hold... however for the time it did, it was WAY less noisy.
This is just another example of bad design... and we fell for it.

I'll talk to their rep and tell him that we are visitors and members of a very popular Dakota forum...and we are all dissapointed in the product. hell..what's the worst that can happen?

Message: My passenger side one is coming loose. About 5-6" of the tape doesn't stay stuck anymore so it flaps in the wind. $36.00 for a little ol' piece of plastic it probably costs $1 to make and they can't even put half way decent tape on it. What a rip-off.

Oh well..chalk one up to lack of research.

Message: As I posted on another thread...Since they weren't sticking well at the corners, I tugged on the visors and they pulled right off, with no damage to the paint. I've since ordered the weathertechs and plan on calling visorshade to send me replacements for these sub-par quality visors. When the new ones come in...I will have a set of Visorshades for the Dakota Quad cab for sale if anyone wants to buy em (shipping included, 40 bucks which is 25 dollars LESS than what I paid for em less than a week ago).
Any takers..drop me a line, otherwise they will be posted on ebay soon.

The directions say that they will fully set in 24 hours, but first roll the windows up 5 to 6 times, then let it sit.I don't know why, there was no tape involved, so I'll let you guys know of any new wind noise when I can.

I think that is so they will make a slight impression in the molding to hold them in place.
If your starting out with the WeatherTech's good for you, you saved yourself some $$$$
I think you will love them, I've had mine on 4 days now and I almost forgot how quite these fine trucks are !

The Shadow was never noisy ,and the old Dak had the drivers side door hyperextended, work truck, and I had a gap of about an inch and half. Very noisy...and cold as heck in the winter!!!
