Subject: Question for Broeheem! IP: Logged
Message: I see that you painted your lower bumper. I've been trying to do the same, but one of the shops that I went to wanted $350 just for painting and the other one said that the paint would not stick. I read that you sanded the plastic and painted over it. How is it holding up? Is the paint smooth? Any tips? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Message: Actually, Chris, it was pretty simple. Dodge did it. I took it off, and the dealership paint shop smoothed it and painted it, along with a sport grille I bought on eBay (I had the chrome SLT) and the rear lower bumpers.
Total cost was $180.00, and I have no complaints about the finish. Sure looks better than that cheap-a$$ gray. Save some dollars and remove it yourself (and take out the fog lights... if ya have 'em), and check out the Dodge shop.

Message: Thanks! I really don't like the gray either. I'll be talking to my dealer tomorrow!
