Subject: Tailgate latches IP: Logged
Message: Are the Dakota tailgate latches adjustable? I have to slam the thing very hard and sometimes it won't latch. Everything is clean and lubed. Latches work ok by hand. It's like the gate pins needs to move aft.

Message: You can move the tailgate striker out a little to make it easier to close. I think it is a T-45 torx..

Message: Do you have a Gen III body style? 1997 & newer beds have little rubber bumpers that face back toward the tailgate surface. They are about 1/4" diameter and can be pulled out of their holes. They are on the vertical part that faces backwards towards you (up towards the top). I had to remove them on mine after I got my bedliner sprayed on. The gate wouldn't even close unless they were removed.
