Subject: Vaccum leak? IP: Logged
Message: My 99 dakota doesn't want shift all the time.
Sometimes it seems to work fine others it
doesn't want to get out of second. It's an auto
trans and it has plenty of fluid. I also just
got it and the truck sat for quite a bit so
could it be that the battery died for so long
the computer got confused? When I first
recharged the battery I had to floor it while
turning the key to get it to start like the CPU
didn't know when to tell the fuel to go. I read
something on here about flashing the vin but I
cannot find that article again.
Thanks guys! Great site.

Message: Try servicing the trans. If it sat for that long it needs it.
